Movement, bodywork, and community helped me through a life-changing grieving process.

My body desperately craved massage during the most intense time of my grieving, but the kind of massage I had previously enjoyed was no longer effective. I didn’t want my shoulder treated or my hamstrings stretched. I needed intentional comforting touch in an environment where I could safely let go of the enormous emotions being held in my body.

Two of my favorite quotes from Ram Dass are “Be here now.” and “We are all just walking each other home.” It is my intention during a grief massage session to embody the spirit of these words.

Grief Massage is available on Thursdays at Bodymechanics Massage School in Tumwater. I require a brief phone consult prior to scheduling the session. I do not accept insurance. One hour sessions are available on a sliding fee scale from $50 to $100 depending on your current financial abilities. I accept cash, check, PayPal, and Venmo.
